Every picture tells a story
Each photo tells a story. A story of someone learning something new. Of someone persevering, even when it is difficult. Of someone taking a moment to relax and chat with a fellow countryman. What these images show is that sport is more than movement. It is a language everyone speaks.
On the tennis court, conversations take place in Ukrainian, Russian, English, and sometimes, cautiously, in Dutch. There is laughter after a missed shot, encouragement following a great rally, and moments of reflection about life beyond the court. For many participants, this is the highlight of their week.
The equipment is simple
The circumstances are not always easy. But the atmosphere
